Indiana Prevention/Safety Program

Parents of LES and LMS Students:

As a legal requirement, Lapel Elementary and Middle School will be providing personal safety programs to all students in grades K-8. The organization presenting the programs is the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide. One of the benefits of the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide is the communication that they share with schools and families prior to visiting our classrooms.

Please consider joining us virtually to learn about this program on Tuesday, March 10th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm via Zoom. In this session, you'll hear details on how these important safety lessons are provided to students, including age-appropriate information on recognizing unsafe situations, healthy relationships, and how to seek help. You'll also receive practical tips to prepare your child for the lesson and to continue the conversation at home.

There will be time for questions and answers. Questions can also be sent to megan@indianaprevention.org if you are unable to attend. A recording of the meeting will be made available to all Lapel Elementary and Middle School parents and caregivers who are unable to join this live session.
