Attendance and Dismissal Reminders

Dismissal Changes: If you need to make an end of day change, please notify your child's teacher as soon as possible. Changes through the office will need to be received no later than 2:00 pm. This is for the safety of all students. Thank you for understanding.

Early Dismissal: Anyone picking up a student from the office will need to bring a photo ID.

Appointments: If your student has to miss school for an appointment, please provide a Dr.'s note to the office as soon as possible so we can update their attendance records. Your student can bring the note to school, or you can email it to mthompson@flcs.k12.in.us.
Car Drop Off/Pick Up Procedure

Car Rider Line Reminders and Updates

To help keep our car rider line safe and efficient, please review the following updates:
  • Morning Drop-Off
  • Students should exit their vehicles in spots 1–8 and then walk along the white line until they can safely enter the building.
  • Cars must remain in line. We have placed tall yellow cones in the far-right lane to prevent cars from pulling around.
  • For safety and to keep traffic moving, students should be ready to exit the car quickly once you pull up to spots 1–8.
  • Afternoon Pick-Up
  • To keep the line moving, please encourage students to buckle themselves in whenever possible.
  • Parents should remain in their cars rather than getting out to assist with buckling or greetings.
  • Safety Note
  • We know that many of our car riders are our youngest students (K–2), and several ride in car seats. It is essential that all students enter and exit from the driver’s side to avoid unsafe situations.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep all students safe while making the car rider line run as smoothly as possible.

New Procedure for Dropping Off Items to Office

We understand that busy schedules and the rush of mornings can sometimes lead to students forgetting essential items at home. To ensure a smooth process for delivering these forgotten items, we have established a new procedure for dropping off items at the school office.

Here is how to proceed:
  1.  When arriving at the school, please ring the bell and through the intercom, state the reason for your visit (ex: dropping off lunch box for student).
  2. Enter the lobby area, and leave the item on the designated table. Please use the sticky note and pen to clearly label the item with your student’s name.
  3. Please email your child's teacher to let them know there is an item to be picked up in the office.

While we understand the need to drop off forgotten items on occasion, we encourage students to develop responsibility and be prepared for their school day as much as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all our students. Please feel free to contact the front office if you have any questions.
